Oshie came to us from southern Ohio. He had been rescued by another breeder and we were going to be his third family in less than 4 weeks. Oshie’s first owner bit off more than they could handle with college and raising a puppy. His second owner had good intentions having purchased a puppy to raise as a companion dog for their autistic toddler but it was evident that Oshie had gotten the bad part of that relationship. Thankfully the second owner connected with a breeder of English Shepherds and she helped to re-home Oshie to us.
Oshie was an exceptionally smart boy. He loved Frisbee and playing ball and was the ultimate ‘Velcro’ dog. Oshie came from a strong herding background, was in constant need of a job, and wanted nothing more out of life than pleasing his humans.
In 2023, shortly after his 10th birthday, we lost Oshie to a burst tumor on his heart. The final diagnosis was hemangiosarcoma.
